This free forestry program is open to Cary citizens and includes five native tree species to choose from, while supplies last — Sweetbay Magnolia, American Snowbell, Swamp White Oak, Arrowwood Viburnum, or American Fringetree. Cary Keeps the Bluffs Wildfire Safe With Annual Prescribed Burn
Cary will conduct its annual prescribed burn at Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve sometime between now and April 2026, weather permitting, as part of the Town’s long-term fire management plan for the preserve. North Carolina State Parks will carry out and supervise the burn, with Cary staff providing logistical support and a Cary fire truck on site throughout the operation. 2026 Biennial Survey
Every two years, Cary issues a citizen satisfaction survey to a group of randomly selected citizens to gauge its effectiveness in its mission and measure overall citizen confidence in town operations. Starting January 12, consultants working on behalf of the Town of Cary will contact citizens and ask questions on safety, service, communications, transportation, recreation, and the environment.
