Facility Shutdown at Marla Dorrel Park and the Kids Together Playground
Paving work will take place at this facility from July 20 - August 7 and include a total shutdown of this site. This is a capital improvement project that supports maintenance objectives identified in Cary's Facility Assessment Study and ADA Transition Plan. 50DAZE Celebration
Piano Painting July 27-30 This week’s pop-up sculpture is a painted piano in Town Hall. Artist Lisa Gaither will be painting all week in Town Hall during open hours; stop by, say hello, and watch the creative process unfold! The piano will become part of Cary’s permanent art collection and will be available for the public to play and enjoy!
Scavenger Hunt July 3- August 24 A series of pop-up artworks by artist Lisa Gaither will appear around Downtown Cary! Each artwork will have an accompanying 50DAZE sign. Show a photo of you and the artwork to the staff at the Cary Arts Center for a prize. Post on Instagram with the hashtag #50DAZE for the chance to win a larger prize at Lazy Daze!

Flower Hammering Workshop

Downtown Cary Park, 8 a.m. Join the Cary Farmers Market at its location on Park Street next to Downtown Cary Park! Each Saturday, you will find a wonderful lineup of vendors offering all locally-made and locally-grown items. Shop for freshly-harvested produce, handmade local food, and artisan-made goods. Stop by the info booth to learn about their matching program for SNAP/EBT. Children can also get their very own Farmers Market Passport and participate in the Eat-A-Rainbow program, which encourages children to eat healthy, nutritious foods. In this immersive workshop with Wine & Design, you will learn how to blow glaskolbens into stunning, sun-catching garden orbs that add color, light, and personality to any outdoor space. As a lead-up to Lazy Daze, this is a great opportunity to try a hands-on art form you might see at the festival. Using fire-formed techniques, you will create three unique blown-glass orbs to take home and enjoy.
