Around Town

Annual Water Disinfection Switchover

In accordance with state and federal recommendations, the Cary/Apex Water Treatment Facility stopped adding ammonia to its water treatment disinfection process on Friday, February 27. During the switchover, citizens may notice that the water is slightly discolored and that the chlorine odor increases. These minor changes are temporary and a normal part of the annual process. Our water remains safe to drink during this period. Customers with health concerns should contact their healthcare provider. Learn more at carync.gov/waterchange.

Celebrate 311 Day on March 11

In recognition of National 311 Day on March 11, it’s a great time to call, click, visit — or now text — your non-emergency requests for information and Town services to Cary 311. Texting is the latest way Cary 311 is meeting residents where they are. From any device, simply text your request to 898311. A live member of the Cary 311 team,  known as a citizen advocate,  will respond during business hours. Messages received after hours will automatically generate a service request, and you’ll receive a tracking number to follow the case. Read more here.
