Around Town

Annual Water Disinfection Switchover

In accordance with state and federal recommendations, the Cary/Apex Water Treatment Facility temporarily stopped adding ammonia to its water treatment disinfection process on Friday, February 27. During the switchover, citizens may notice that the water is slightly discolored and that the chlorine odor increases. These minor changes are temporary and a normal part of the annual process. Our water remains safe to drink during this period. Customers with health concerns should contact their healthcare provider. Learn more at carync.gov/waterchange.

Registration Is Now Open for Cary’s Wheels on Academy Car Show

Wheels on Academy returns to Town Hall Campus on May 16. This free car show is open to vehicles of all makes, models, and years - including trucks and EVs! Register by May 2 to receive a dash plaque and an event towel upon arrival. Learn more and at carync.gov/wheels.

The Nest at Downtown Cary Park has been nominated — for the second consecutive year — for USA TODAY’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Award for Best Public Playground. After earning the top national ranking last year, The Nest is in the running to defend its title!
