Applications Open for Cary 101 Program

Applications are now open for this year’s Cary 101 program through March 15! This six-week, interactive experience features hands-on activities and engaging presentations that provide an inside look at Cary’s structure, culture, and decision-making processes. Learn more and apply.

Annual Water Disinfection Switchover

In accordance with state and federal recommendations, the Cary/Apex Water Treatment Facility will temporarily stop adding ammonia to its water treatment disinfection process beginning Friday, February 27. During the switchover, citizens may notice that the water is slightly discolored and that the chlorine odor increases. These minor changes are temporary and a normal part of the annual process. Our water remains safe to drink during this period. Customers with health concerns should contact their healthcare provider. Learn more at carync.gov/waterchange.

My Tree, Our Tree is Open for Registration 

Don’t miss your chance to reserve your free native tree! A few species are still available for registration, while supplies last. The pickup event takes place on March 28 in conjunction with Cary’s Arbor Day celebration on Town Hall campus.

The Soccer Tournament (TST) Tickets Are Now on Sale! 

The Soccer Tournament is returning to Cary for the 4th year in a row, and tickets are now on sale. Fans will experience three $1 million competitions featuring world-class athletes and celebrities, as well as TST’s one-of-a-kind Global Soccer Festival featuring international food and beverage, meet and greets, live entertainment, and family fun for all! The Soccer Tournament returns May 27 – June 1, 2026 — mark your calendars and don’t miss a minute of the action!

Join us at the Park for School BreakOUT! This free, family-friendly event is a great way to enjoy time together when school’s out. Share Your Input on Cary’s 2026-2027 Annual Action Plan

Cary is beginning preparation of the draft 2026–2027 Annual Action Plan, which outlines proposed funding for programs focused on new housing development, housing rehabilitation, and housing stability support services. Before the draft is finalized, residents are invited to attend a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Plan Preparation public input meeting on March 3, 2026. Staff will share information about community goals and gather feedback to help guide how this federal housing funding is invested.

Summer Camp Registration Opens

Registration for summer camps begins at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, for Cary residents (Wednesday, March 18, for non-residents). Registration takes place in RecTrac. Join Mayor Weinbrecht as he delivers his annual State of Cary address, followed by a Q&A. Learn about our town's accomplishments and the progress we're making toward the Council's vision for the community. Join the Cary Farmers Market at its location on Park Street next to Downtown Cary Park! Each Saturday, you will find a wonderful lineup of vendors offering all locally-made and locally-grown items. Shop for freshly-harvested produce, handmade local food, and artisan-made goods. Stop by the info booth to learn about their matching program for SNAP/EBT. Children can also get their very own Farmers Market Passport and participate in the Eat-A-Rainbow program, which encourages children to eat healthy, nutritious foods.
