Budget Open House on April 7 - Mark Your Calendars

Cary Senior Center, 3-7 p.m.
Stop by to learn about Cary's budget process and the services your taxes and fees pay for, and to offer your priorities for FY2027. The open house will be live-streamed with a budget presentation repeating throughout the night. For more, visit carync.gov/budget.

Most Cary Staffed Facilities to Close in Observance of Good Friday

Most Cary staffed facilities, including Town Hall and community and arts centers, will be closed on Friday, April 3, in observance of Good Friday. Curbside collection for the week of March 30 – April 2 remains unchanged; the Citizen’s Convenience Center will be closed on Friday, April 3. Public Comment Period: Draft 2026-2027 Annual Action Plan and Draft CDBG Citizen Participation Plan 

Cary’s draft 2026–2027 Annual Action Plan and proposed updates to the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Citizen Participation Plan are now available for public review. These plans guide how federal and local housing funds are invested in our community, and your input matters. Visit housing.carync.gov to review the drafts and share your comments by April 30.

Voting for USA TODAY’s 10BEST Public Playground ends April 6 at noon. The Nest at Downtown Cary Park is once again nominated, and anyone can vote once per day with no sign-in required. Every vote helps highlight a space that brings the Cary community together. Vote today!

Spring BreakOUT! 

Downtown Cary Park, 10 a.m. 
Set sail for a unique adventure at our Pirate-Themed Spring BreakOUT, where the Park transforms into a lively port full of treasure, music, and mischief. Young buccaneers can search for hidden loot in a park-wide treasure hunt, create pirate crafts at the Art Cart, and even discover their very own pirate name. Meet Captain Blackbeard and his crew at an interactive encampment, catch roaming performances from Pirates of the Piedmont, and cheer on funny sword-fighting shows. Keep an eye out for roaming pirates, magical mermaids, and a spirited youth costume contest and parade. There’s face painting, tattoos, and sweet treats!

Kick back, relax, and enjoy an evening by the lake at Bands, Bites, and Boats at Bond Park! This free community event brings together live music, local food trucks, and after-hours boat rentals for a perfect Friday night on Bond Lake. Featuring live music from Brian and Cheyenne, enjoy delicious bites from Mr. Puebla Tacos and Hot Chix Chicken and Pancakes, along with refreshing brews from Fortnight Brewing Company.

Cary Farmers Market

Downtown Cary Park, 8 a.m.
Join the Cary Farmers Market at its location on Park Street next to Downtown Cary Park! Each Saturday, you will find a wonderful lineup of vendors offering all locally-made and locally-grown items. Shop for freshly-harvested produce, handmade local food, and artisan-made goods. Stop by the info booth to learn about their matching program for SNAP/EBT. Children can also get their very own Farmers Market Passport and participate in the Eat-A-Rainbow program, which encourages children to eat healthy, nutritious foods. Bond Park Boat Rentals

Bond Park Boathouse, 10 a.m. 
Enjoy a day on the water at Bond Park Boathouse! Beginning Saturday, April 4, boat rentals are available on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through May. Starting in June, rentals expand to seven days a week, giving you even more opportunities to get out on Bond Lake. Visitors can enjoy a relaxing paddle with a variety of rental options, making it a great way to experience the park from a different perspective. Whether you are planning a casual family outing or a peaceful trip on the lake, boat rentals are a fun and easy way to get outside and enjoy the season.
